The company’s Redeon R7 brand will launch larger SSD storage for PC gamers

AMD to enter SSD market – report

AMD is setting out to explore the Solid-State Drives market, under the Radeon R7 brand.

Leaked slides showing the specs of the new SSD come from WCCFtech via Chinese tech site EXPReview.com.

The lineup consists of three drives, which will be aimed at PC gamers, holding up to 120GB, 240GB and 480GB of extra storage.

While all versions of the R7 drives offer read speeds of up to 550MB, the 120GB edition provides slower write speeds (470MB) than the 240GB and 480GB (530MB) editions.

They also include 256-bit AES encryption and are only available in the 2.5-inch form factor.

AMD also recently worked with Radeon, launching branded Memory and graphics cards, now it seems the company is broadening its market with SSD.

However, the leaked slides do not disclose any pricing or the availability of the new SSD.

This news comes after AMD spoke to PCR, revealing how the R7 and R9 graphics cards are improving the success around the company’s games bundles.
