With a large majority of today’s businesses using computers, printers, phone systems and various other bits of office tech, it’s easy to see the importance of a company’s IT department.
In its latest annual IT Pro Value survey, SolarWinds asked IT pro how valued they feel by the businesses they work for.
The results reveal that three out of five IT professionals feel at most moderately valued by their employer for their unique contribution to business, with 27 per cent feeling only slightly to not at all valued.
SolarWinds also asked end users for their perspective and found that 70 per cent agree that there would be a greater impact on their daily work life if the IT department went on holiday than if their company’s executive leadership did the same.
In aid of celebrating the work IT professionals do. SolarWinds has established the third Tuesday of every September as IT Professionals Day.
IT Professional Day will recognize the hard work done by system admins, network engineers, database admins, developers, IT support technicians and all other professionals serving in IT-related roles.
